It doesn’t matter if you’re a multi-million-pound business or a one-man band. People are searching for all sorts all over the globe. As long as you offer a service related to any marine or water activity, you’re good to begin!

NOPE! Running a watersports business can be expensive enough – you don’t need us taking a commission every time someone gets in touch too. Just pay once annually for your listing to appear on Watersports.Guru and that’s it. (Unless you have the Basic listing – then that’s free!)

Watersports.Guru let’s customers contact you directly to make bookings and inquiries.

With any paid listing, customers can seamlessly drop you an email via the Enquire button on your listing. Plus, you can show any further contact info you like, including your telephone number, website, and social media profiles!

We don’t take any bookings through the site (so we don’t take a commission from you for bookings either!). This is because all water-related services & activities will have different needs when liaising with customers – Your business is unique and we wouldn’t like to interfere with your process.

So… with any paid listing, we make it as easy as possible for customers to get in contact with you.

Yup! You can have as many listings as you like! Just add a new listing for each location.

One listing = 1 location on the Watersports.Guru map.

To add a new listing, simply take out a new listing package here. Or to verify a pre-existing listing, first search for it using the search bar. Click on the listing. Then click the verify link under the title to claim it as your own.

Yes, you can edit your listing at any time! Login to your account and click on the My listings tab.

Click on the listing you wish to edit.

Click the edit button at the top left of your listing and make any changes you like. Don’t forget to hit the submit button to save your changes.

Yes, you heard it right. If you’ve changed your mind for any reason it’s no problem! Paid listings can be deleted any time within the first 30 days for a full refund.

As soon as you are refunded, your listing will be deleted and will no longer be visible on the site.

To request a refund within 30 days of your listing purchase date, please Login and visit your Account settings. Submit the refund request form at the bottom of the page.

You’ll need your Username, Listing ID (found at the bottom of your listing’s page), and Order Number (found on your confirmation email) to complete the form.

It may take up to 7 days for changes to take effect and your listing to disappear on the site.

Login to your account, click the My listings tab. Select the listing you wish to upgrade.

At the top left of your listing click upgrade (next to the edit button).

Choose your new package. As long have you have selected an upgraded package, any new fields you are granted access to will appear in the form, ready for you to add in your extra details.

Click Submit and complete the checkout to finish upgrading!

Yes! To ensure there’s no downtime for your listing, subscriptions will automatically renew on the date stated in your subscription details page, unless you have cancelled your subscription, or requested a deletion.

One of the main benefits of our listing packages is that you can cancel/renew your subscription at any time.

Cancelling a subscription will hide your business listing from appearing in the Watersports.Guru search results – so customers can’t find you. But, your listing will remain saved in your account. Including all your businesses photos, reviews, and ratings. So you can quickly renew your listing again in the future.

This is handy for seasonal businesses on the pay monthly package. Yeah! You can cancel your listing during your downtime and reactivate it when the season begins, saving you some pennies!

Most businesses like to appear in the search all year round, but you can cancel/renew the pay annually package too.

To cancel a listing

Login and visit your Account settings.

Click Subscriptions and find the subscription you wish to pause.

Click View. Then click Cancel.

Your listing will remain visible on the site until the end of your paid period, after which your listing will become invisible. No further payments will be taken from your account until you chose to renew your listing.

 

To renew a listing

Login and visit the My listings tab.

Click on the listing you wish to renew. (It will be labelled expired).

Click the renew button at the top left of your listing and choose the renewal package you like. Complete the checkout and your business will reappear to customers in the search results. YAY!

 

If you would like to permanently delete your listing from the site, please follow instructions for permanently deleting a listing instead.

Yes you can permanently delete your listing, although one of the main benefits of our listing packages is that you can cancel/renew your subscription at any time. So we strongly advise cancelling instead of deleting. 

Important: Deleting a listing is permanent and you will lose all your info, reviews, and ratings associated with it. Unfortunately, we are unable to get these back once deleted.

Cancelling instead will hide your listing from appearing to customers in the search results and stop all further subscription payments. But will enable you to reactivate your listing again in the future.

If you are sure you would like to permanently delete your listing anyway, please follow these steps.

Visit your Account settings. Submit the form at the bottom of the page.

You’ll need your Username, Listing ID (found at the bottom of your listing’s page), and Order Number (found on your confirmation email) to complete the form.

Once you have submitted your form, your listing will be deleted from the site and no further payments will be taken.

Please do this at least 7 days before your next payment date to ensure you do not get charged any further payments.

It may take up to 7 days for changes to take effect and your listing to disappear on the site.

 

I’ve deleted my listing, can I add it again?

We can’t reactivate any previously deleted listings. For this reason, we always recommend cancelling a listing instead of deleting it. But you can start a fresh listing for your business at any time by creating a new listing here!

Asking customers to rate your business can seem daunting, but it’s a lot easier than you might think. Most people are happy to leave a review, and as a business, having a plethora of good reviews from genuinely happy customers is one of the best ways to encourage new customers to get in touch.

Here are some tips:

  • Verbally ask your customers after they have used your service if they would mind leaving a review on Watersports.Guru.
  • Remind customers to leave you a review by including it in your emails and newsletters.
  • Contact old customers who have previously used your service and prompt them to leave a review. Hey! You can also use this as an opportunity to tell them about any other exciting updates!

Yes! This is one of our favourite features! Let your own website visitors see how great you are by showcasing your starts on your own website too!

Please note you must have at least one rating before your ratings will become visible on your listing page.

To embed your ratings on your website, first visit your listing details page.

On the top left under your stars, click Embed this Rating on Your Site

A pop-up window will open. You can adjust customisations on the left.

Once you are happy, click Copy Code.

Finally, open your website’s page editor and paste the HTML code where you would like the rating widget to appear. We recommend pasting it in your footer. If you’re not sure, ask your website developer for help to do this.
